In Vivo Measurement of Articular Surfaces and other Internal Landmarks.   

Now additional functions to The MotionMonitor™ enable 3-D tracking of internal landmarks.  Follow a simple 4 step process to quickly reference internal landmarks from multiple x-rays and fluoroscopes to the coordinate system of surface mounted 6dof tracking sensors.

1.  Digitize the sensor assembly using The MotionMonitor™s stylus support functions.

2.  Attach sensor assembly to the body segment of interest using pins for rigid attachment to the bone or other surface mounting. 

3.  Use x-ray, fluoroscopy or other imaging devices to take multiple images of the body segment and sensor assembly. 

4.  Digitize the x-ray image of the sensor assembly and landmarks of interest. 

The The MotionMonitor™ guides you through the process with easy to follow dialog boxes and message windows.  It then calculates the relationship of the digitized landmarks to the sensor’s coordinate system and will track these landmarks like any other segment data.  You can capture dynamic activities following The MotionMonitor™ ’s usual recording methods.  The landmarks are then selected for viewing or export from the “Analyze” menu items.
