New Functionality for EMG Data Collection and Processing
Now integrate and synchronize EMG collection with
forceplate, kinematic, and
video data within The MotionMonitor™. Rectify and filter your
EMG signals with Low Pass, High Pass, and Notch filter settings.

The Select EMG Data window below allows you to specify EMG data to be graphed during playback. The
user can enter the muscle name associated with a signal being collected and
specify the appropriate A/D board # and channel # associated with that muscle.
The user can also set Lowpass, Highpass and Notch filters. Lastly, the signal type displayed can
be selected as Raw, Root Mean Square (RMS) of specified duration, or as a Power
Spectrum Density (PSD). The graphs displayed in the landing activity image above
is a result of the selections made in the dialogue window below.

Menu items automatically set up and calibrate your system with EMG Notch
filters. This is particularly important for systems using magnetic tracking
devices along together with EMG collections as magnetic fields have been known
to distort EMG readings. (See P. Pidcoe, PhD, PT American Academy of Sports
Medicine). This menu item conducts the process described by Pidcoe for
correcting EMG readings.
